Firecracker Plant (Russelia equisetiformis) is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub known for its slender, arching stems and vibrant, tubular red flowers that resemble tiny firecrackers—hence the name. Native to Mexico and parts of Central America, this ornamental plant thrives in warm climates and is prized for its ability to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Its cascading, rush-like foliage gives it a delicate, fountain-like appearance, making it ideal for hanging baskets, borders, or as a spilling accent over walls.
The plant blooms profusely throughout the warmer months and sometimes year-round in frost-free areas. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, and once established, it is drought-tolerant and low-maintenance.
Our current inventory is similar to the plant in photo 2. They are about 6-10" tall, growing in a 3" deep container. It will be securely packed for shipment.
