Nice and with flower
A wonderful low care plant, and a high quality supplier!
My husband really wanted a tea olive tree when we purchased our home in the spring of last year. Everything was sold out. I was skeptical about ordering from this website since I'd never heard of it but I gave it a try.
The plant arrived the first week of April. It was securely packed, healthy, and the size I expected from the description (about 6 inches tall). Along with a few lemon balm seedlings, I planted the Fudingzhu Tea Olive in a 12" clay pot filled with regular dirt from the yard, and it flowered almost immediately. It has been in flower on and off (almost non stop) even through 20 degree winter weather.
As of today (Valentine's Day), it is in flower. It is about 9-10 inches tall and bushy despite it's small stature. I lightly fertilized it throughout the growing season and watered it moderately . Dry, hot weather didn't bother it, and it lived through the winter without any special care or protection. The pot is in the middle of the yard so I really mean zero winter protection.
I'm happy to be growing this for winter interest and the food it provides pollinators when nothing else is in bloom.
